    Siege towers should be better

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 06:53 PM PDT

The whole point of siege towers is being able to put more men on the walls faster. However, it seems like the AI path finding still can't figure out how to use all three ladders at the same time.

Ideally, all three ladders should be full so that it's not just a piddle of men coming through, but a flood. Also, the gate shouldn't be lowered until more men are up there to charge through.

Hopefully, this is fixed so towers are more useful

    Attention Console Players!

    Posted: 23 Sep 2020 04:00 AM PDT

Hey guys! I wanted to take a quick look at a feature that a) I hear talked about frequently and b) nobody seems to have any solid information for: playing with a controller! At the end I'll also briefly touch on how someone without a gaming PC can still play Bannerlord, since I imagine that's the boat a lot of console players are in. To start I sat down and figured out what all the controls are when using a gamepad:

    World Map

Options / Menu - Options Menu
    Share / View - Encyclopedia
    Left Analog - Control Cursor
    Right Analog - Control Camera
    D-Pad - N/A
    X / A - Move to Location
    Square / X - Pause / Unpause Time
    Circle / B - Change Cursor
    Triangle / Y - N/A
    L1 - Additional Info / Encyclopedia Page
    R1 - Expand Stat Bar
    L2 - Zoom Out
    R2 - Zoom In
    L3 - Snap to Party
    R3 - Track Fief / Party

    In Fief / Battle

Options / Menu - Options Menu
    Share / View - Encyclopedia
    Left Analog - Move Character
    Right Analog - Control Camera
    D-Pad Up - Taunt
    D-Pad Down - Drop Weapon
    D-Pad Left - N/A
    D-Pad Right - Cycle Weapons
    X / A - Move to Location
    Square / X - Duck / Stand
    Circle / B - Change Cursor
    Triangle / Y - N/A
    L1 - Show Indicators
    R1 - Kick / Shield Bash
    L2 - Block
    R2 - Attack
    L3 - Switch Between 1st and 3rd Person
    R3 (Hold) - Zoom In / Out

Now you might notice something pretty important missing: there's no way to control your troops! There's not a whole lot of point playing if your troops stand around with their fingers up their noses is there? Fortunately I've found a workaround. Go to Options, then Mouse and Keyboard, then under Order Menu set Select Order 6 to an unused button like D-Pad Left. It will give you an error but work regardless. Order 6 is for your Commanders to take control of their troops. It's not a perfect solution but it's a lot better than just standing around like idiots!

Now this is all well and good, but what if you still don't have a PC capable of running it? Well if you don't mind paying a little extra GeForce Now will let you play at max settings with zero lag on your Steam account as long as you have good enough internet to support it and a compatible device (laptop, desktop, Mac, SHIELD TV or Android mobile device). It costs $5 a month but you can also use it for free with a queue and a one hour time limit per session to try it out and make sure it works on your machine.

    Happy conquering!

(note: I'm not a shill for GeForce Now, just a satisfied customer)

Devs should make daggers and knives useful. They are completely useless right now.

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 08:56 PM PDT

I think weapons should be able to break and you should be able to disarm your opponent somehow so that he gets forced to switch to his dagger. It would be cool but it's really demanding and complicated at the moment. My suggestion.

    Missing prisoner functions?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2020 01:36 AM PDT

    Hi
There must be a lot of missing functions for the whole prisoner thingy.
First of, a companion that ends up in prison, will only get out if he manages to escape. Last night my companion got captured by one of the Empire factions, however, they put him in prison in one of the Empire factions I wasn't in war with, so I could go to the dungeon in that city.
However, even though I found my companion in a dungeon hole, there was no option to talk with him. You couldnt talk to the guards about it either. I went to the Ransom Broker in that same city, and chose the "I want to ransom one of my companions" option, but then it was like "never mind". So that didnt work either.
So there is no way to get your companions out of prison, you just have to wait untill they escape.

Another thing that is bugging me, is when you capture enemy lords, and put them in your dungeon.
There will never be any attempt to ransom them, you will never get payed by their faction. They just sit there untill they escape. So money wise, it's just better to ransom them at a Ransom Broker. But I guess it's tactical to keep them in Dungeons, since they can't really form new parties there.

    Roguery update when?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2020 08:40 AM PDT

Do they have a schedule? I want to lead a bandit army so bad. I mean yeah technically I could build an army with bandits now but there will be so much fun with the merry men perk.

    Posted: 23 Sep 2020 07:29 AM PDT

I find that when I defeat a army with a king or lord they always escape like I would wipe out the kerghiget faction leader army and nothing survives but he manages to escape is their anything I can do about this

    Rhodok Copypasta

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 11:53 AM PDT

What the fuck did you just fucking say to me you little Sarranid? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Jelkala crossbow academy. I've been involved in numerous sieges against Sarranid lands and have over 300 confirmed headshots. I am trained in Crossbows and am the top Sharpshooter in the kings backline. you are nothing to me but just another besieger I will murder you with precision the likes of which have never been seen on Calradia! Mark my fucking bolts. You think you can get away with saying shit like that to me over the internet? Think again, Sarranid. as we speak I am contacting my secret network of sergeants across Calradia and your castles are being sieged right now so you'd better prepare for the storm, peasant. The storm that wipes out your pathetic little thing your call your sultanate you're fucking dead Sarranid I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over 700 hundred ways and that's just with my shield Not only am I extensively trained in defensive combat, but I have access to the entire Rhodok armory and I will use it to it's full extent to wipe your miserable ass off of Calradia you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" office of arts and culture was about to bring down upon you Maybe you would have held your fucking tongue, but you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot! I will shit Steel tipped bolts all over you and you will drown in them. You are fucking dead, kiddo.

Is the siege lag as bad as it was at launch for you or is it just me?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 09:51 PM PDT

While background lag has been solved, I still drop from 50-60 frames to less than 10 the moment my troops hit the walls and Im not at the far far back of the battle, and since troops cant use ladders or towers correctly creative flanking strategies are essential to actually gain an upper hand in the wall-clusterfuck, and as a result it requires getting into the castle, and somehow ordering some men to follow while hiding somewhere inside at 4 FPS for the next 15-20 minutes, or worse during larger sieges.

And the moment troops change their mind, or decide to randomly go down ladders instead of up, it drops even lower than 4 FPS. So far, the only sieges I can win that arent overwhelming forces have required me to play laggy-hiding-castle-rat and it ruins all the fun.

I would stand back and watch, but due to inabilities to use more than 1 ladder from my troops, this strategy is a necessity.

I guess my point being, has your in game siege performance improved since launch? Is it still roughly as bad as it was, or is this a unique memory leak/hardware issue? I can run this game beautifully on full settings in every other context, including land battles with 1000 men, but Ive been coming back after month-long waiting intervals to see if things improve, but it hasnt on my end regardless of the updates.

    Warband Persistent World High Population

    Warband Persistent World High Population

Hey, if anyone else thinks Bannerlord's combat is terrible and wants to keep playing Warband like me the Persistent Kingdom mod is doing well on peak North American hours consistently getting 100+ people. For those who don't know what this is it's basically an open world multiplayer mod with resources and castles and crafting and clan wars and the like.

Also getting into it as a new or returning player might be a little rough at first and maybe a little toxic lol so you should probably pair up with a clan to have frens to watch your back and not get all your iron ore stolen. The Templars are doing well now, pm me if you're interested otherwise the other clans are solid too minus Lannister lol

As you soon as you can craft javelins they sell for like a minimum of 20K I've been able to get them worth over 100k so far, you can literally buy the entire economy of an empire for like 5 javelins haha

    Invincible enemy in sieges

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 03:46 PM PDT

So, anytime I attack in a siege, no matter what city or castle or faction, I end up with one enemy who is immune to all damage. Never the same class of enemy, but always completely invulnerable. He still takes damage, because I have the "delivered (x) damage" text at the bottom of my screen. But no matter how much damage I do, this one enemy will not die. I tried Ctrl+alt+F4, it does damage to him but he won't be knocked unconscious. He just gets stunlocked into a corner by my Huscarls, or stabs them in the back.

Only way to kill him is to kill every other enemy, then retreat, (losing health and occasionally a Huscarl in the process), then come back and kill him when he's the only defender. And frankly, this bug is somewhat game breaking.

How do you customize your character's face after creating them? (Bannerlord)

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 03:52 PM PDT

So, it's mid-late September now, quite a few months after release. I've searched online for how you can customize your character's face after creating them, and I've found a bunch of people saying "just press V" but that doesn't seem to work anymore. I don't really like how my guy looks and I want him to look different, but I can't do anything.

    Please help!

    Help with money in bannerlord

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 03:39 PM PDT

I recently started playing bannerlord and I have 18 units and one companion most of the units are tier 4/5 but I don't get enough money per day from looting bandits to make a bigger party. So I purchased a pottery in pen cannoc and a smithy in senon but each of them give me about 80 dinars per day and thats not even enough for 18 units, what am I doing wrong? I did so much tournaments but Teammates AI is so bad that I lose most of the team fights. How am I supposed to get money ?

Any way to put a companion/clan member in a town?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 06:57 PM PDT

Basically the title. Accidentally took a family member into my party that was previously waiting in the keep of a settlement and I can't seem to be able to put them back. Can't seem to find an answer on this subreddit or google either, so maybe that feature just isn't there?
