Will Napoleonic wars community be affected by the release of Bannerlord?

    Posted: 16 Feb 2020 06:21 AM PST

Napoleonic Wars is honestly my favorite video game of all time. I can always come back to it. There's always enough people playing for it to be fun, especially on weekends.

I've been worried that Bannerlord might kill the Napoleonic Wars community, but I can't tell if I'm just being paranoid. My dream is that they make a new, Napoleonic Wars DLC for Bannerlord. I don't think it'll happen though.

Was thinking about some neat native+ ideas for bannerlord

    Posted: 16 Feb 2020 05:11 AM PST

With new modding tools, I thought about some cool additions that would add to the game.

    1. Implementing a simple plague system, where trade can transfer plague based on its contagiousness, and hurts the prosperity of the region based on its strength. Plagues would be random and extremely rare but would be neat to have plague be completely decimating half the entire map and spreading everywhere, killing 50-60% of everyone, like the black death. No one able to fund elite armies, rebellions/unrest everywhere (if/once those get added)
    2. Attrition, being too far away from one of your settlements for more than a month or whatever time feels good lowers morale considerably. They might already have something that already accomplishes the mechanic of holding back an army until it runs out of steam.
    3. Some basic border/trade network system to mimic the problem of borders being spread too thin having an affect on spawning bandits or reducing whatever else.

Just a few things I thought would be interesting. Especially plagues or weather events like floods or famines adding a bit of random so the player will have to react to their own misfortune or capitalize on theirs. Enlisting aid could tie into the influence system as well or whatever ends up working out.

Is it worth to max out training first?

    Posted: 16 Feb 2020 03:51 AM PST

Playing warband for the first time in years and I went for full charisma and leadership first on my character. The problem is that while I have a lot of troops, training them is so incredibly slow.

I am currently level 18 and I am thinking I made mistake by not maxing training first, so I could have tier 3 troops at least pretty quickly. Yes my army would be smaller but at least I could train replacements for dead troops pretty quickly.

I am not using swadian cav yet because that's my little challenge for this run, I will start using a small group of them in the late game.

What do you think? Should I restart and max out training before I max out leadership?

So after making that first Warsword Army in the 18th century style using pirate units, I said fuck it and just modded the hell out of this until I got an actual Napoleonic Style Army with my own headcanon

5 Game crashes every time I open up my save (native), is this a known problem, and are there any fixes?

    Posted: 16 Feb 2020 07:18 AM PST

Just playing a Calradic campaign, and was doing pretty well, since I got a rare opportunity to declare independence early on and I was steamrolling the Kerghits. I peaced out with them to focus on kicking out all of those disloyal lords who join you when you first declare independence, and my game crashed. Nothing I do is fixing the issue, I tried restarting my computer, reinstalling the game, etc.

Does anyone know any fixes? I'd prefer it if I didn't lose this save.
