Beta is amazing, I will not forget infantry clashes in Captain Mode any time soon

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 02:46 AM PST

So I'm playing the beta for almost a month I think, about 20 hours.

Had few rounds in Captain Mode yesterday night, Vlandia vs Empire and it was all heavy infantry units and some supportive archers. Orgasm, people, that's what I've experienced. The cooperation and tactics felt great, very intense, shield wall bashing on another shield wall. Battles in Captain Mode are not that massive but I can already feel that AI deals much better in this kind of situations.

The Beta is flawed: AI is still not as good as you'd hope it to be (though it got significant upgrades), archers are too strong, balance between factions is not fleshed out from my experience (I don't claim to be an expert in competitive multiplayer though), some say that from a competitive point of view BL combat system is worse than WB. Maybe, but I can't bring myself to care - in BL it works and it is fun! Animations are much better, there's more variety to melee combat movement, though overall it feels absolutely familiar.

I feel some sort of gloom on this sub lately, maybe it is because for a lot of people the game is here and seeing Bannerlord gameplay is not as magical as before :D But what I want to say is: don't worry guys. This game is gonna be tons of fun!

Sounds, graphics and animations bring joy when you play. Reworked horses feel amazing, the way they move, maneuver and control, feels much better and more realistic. Bows are damn deadly and much more convenient to use now. Blocking skills with the shield now matter. Hitboxes became much more detailed! If a shield doesn't cover that part of the body - you can shoot/hit it! Spears with a shield are not useless on foot anymore. When hitting the enemy with an axe or bardish it matters which part of the weapon hits the target, overall melee has much more depth and detail to it. Both multiplayer modes are fun and I can't wait for more. Maps are brilliant, very beautiful and provide variety for tactics in each round. Controls over your units in Captain Mode is very easy.

Pour one out for Wedding Dance. One of the best mods that died before it’s time.

I have played a lot of mods but this one was special. Maybe it was the Valkyries, maybe the nudity, maybe the black knights and the almost impossibility of killing them...maybe even the crazy Catholic faction with slaves and their raging boners. But this mod was amazing and goofy at the same time. Just feeling some nostalgia here.

Question: Can you ask to be released from your oath and keep your fiefs in vanilla Warband?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 09:40 PM PST

I am a vassal of Rhodoks and want to join Nords, And I have a fond relation with Graveth. If I ask to be released from my oath, will I keep my fiefs?

    What...

    Spoiler alert.

Alright, this is about Viking Conquest, specifically during the big ship battle when Sven attacks Harald.

Why are the Vikingr's invincible? I literally cut one's head off, still didn't die. Is this supposed to happen?

    [PoP] Order of the Dragon

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 12:32 AM PST

So, I've been playing Pendor for years already and I know that Dragon Knights < SLC or Lions but I would roleplay them today. This is my 1st time using Dragon Knights, any suggestions or tips what should I do first?

EDIT: My story is, I'm a son of a former knight who was left alone and became a mercenary. As a mercenary working under Ravenstern, I met some duke's daughter and we fall in love. Dunno how I can make like Ravenstern is getting yeeted by 2 kingdoms and with 3 or less fiefs but if that happens, I'm the hero they will need as I will reclaim all lost lands.

(floris) Making companions vassals and then bringing them back to the party

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 03:38 PM PST

I made Lezalit a vassal, but it turns out I miss the big guy. As a king who really doesn't think about his lords' feelings, is there a way that I can make Lezalit come hang out with me again?
