Warband, returning to the game after a while. Tips?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 07:56 AM PST

Hi, used to play this constantly! Never was too good but I loved it. Any tips for starting out? I know the basics still but most things are lost on me! Appreciate the help :)

Having only companions in the party throughout the whole game - Am I the only person with this specific playstyle?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 03:58 AM PST

Maybe it's because i'm excessively perfectionist, but I dislike the chance of having my troops killed in battle, so I just stick with companions from start to finish.

For example in the Floris mod for Warband, I gather up all 22 companions early on in the game, disable complaints, and spend the rest of the time leveling up my companions and buying them the best gear. That is essentially my joy in the game. I've never even come close to managing a sizeable Kingdom of my own, since I was satisfied simply hunting bandits, occasionally working for the lords and making money through trade and investments.

I found it difficult to recreate that experience on Bannerlord. First off, there's a limit to how many companions you can recruit based on the clan level. I don't have an issue with this game mechanic in particular, but to have just 7 or 8 companions in the late-game (that's as far as i've managed) feels lacking compared to the effort put in to increase the clan level. Also, the randomly generated companions are confusing and hard to track down, let alone assemble half a dozen of them with the same (ideal) skill sets.

Because i'm still attached to my old playstyle, the game mostly consists of me and 2 other companions getting slaughtered by looters, while running around the map trying to find the other companion with decent bow skills. Alas, it's near unplayable for me.

But while other players are amassing huge armies in shield formations, my issue with the game does seem a bit ridiculous. Does anyone else similarly play the game in an unconventional manner?

Is Multiplayer Dead ? - Bannerlord

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 08:45 AM PST

Playing as a Battanian character, need help picking a culture/Kingdom for my character to hate and raid mercilessly.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 08:31 AM PST

Firstly I guess I should ask if raiding is worth it? What are the benefits/detriments of it, and the short/long-term effects?

Now I will probably still raid this culture/Kingdom's villages for roleplaying reasons, but I'm not sure who to choose. I'm thinking it should be someone that borders Battania, but probably not Sturgia? Either Vlandia or one of the Imperial factions. Are there any good lore reasons as to why the average Battanian might hate any given faction?

What would be the best kind of play through? A little finger or John snow type character? My goal is to be a merchant until I gather up enough coins for a fleet of ships 5-8) then get unsullied as my main army(I will gather others aswell, Dothraki for cavalry etc) I've only played it once and not for too long. Anyone got recommendations for play through?

    Help modding

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 08:32 AM PST

So I was trying to mess around with mods recently, specifically the highly downloaded "bannerlord tweaks" and the "gay marriage " mod. However both got an error script as soon as started the campaign. Any tips or tutorial videos (that aren't outdated)?

What are all the ways to raise relations with town/village notables?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 08:10 AM PST

I've been running all over Battania doing quests for notables to try and raise relations, but it's really, really slow! I just want my noble troops so I can get some archers! :S

It feels so slow partly because you can't focus on just one notable and do a bunch of quests for him. I've done loads and loads of quests but it's been for different notables in different villages all over Battania, and so while many notable have relations with me between 10 and 20, I haven't been able to get any relations up to 40-60 (at least not in the villages).

It seems for Towns at least the Escort Caravan quest is really good provided that you let the caravan get attacked by bandits and then rush in to save it.

Are there any other/better ways to raise relations with particular notables in towns and/or villages?

How do I kill the prison guard at Jelbegi Castle

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 05:01 AM PST

I have looked EVERYWHERE, the is no way I can defeat the guard. my sword does 0-1 dmg and he does 15 in a hit. I tried using the crossbow but the max is 2 shots and that won't take him down (Headshots). Is there a way to fight him? Anything helps. I don't know what I can do to get a few good swings
