    Event Story

King Ragnar, looking to hold his newly captured southern foothold of Almerra, sent an invasion fleet to Jamiche Castle to secure a supply line to the starving castle. While the band of raiders were able to defeat the Khergits to capture Almerra, the Sarranids proved too great a challenge and forced the Nords to pull back.

Desperate to get supplies through, King Ragnar sent a party with arms and provisions on a more indirect route through the desert to avoid Sarranid patrols. Another party of Nords are attacking Jamiche again in an attempt to provide a distraction. The king hopes that with the attack and the route of the relief party through largely uninhabited areas might allow them to remain undetected.

Being unfamiliar with the region, the Nords were unaware of the existence of a trading post on their path. Travelling Sarranidian merchants reported sightings of hostile invaders, prompting a band of Sarranids being sent to investigate.

Calradic Campaign Starter Guide (for a lore summary to provide greater context)

Becoming Involved in the Calradic Campaign The Calradic Campaign team is always looking for new additions, whether it be scene makers, technical wizards, writers, or anything else of use.

Particularly, we are always looking for mapping talent. Don't be constrained by our regular format either, get creative - an unorthodox battle map, a new dueling map, a really innovative use of an underused game mode, anything!

If you'd like to contribute your area of expertise, be sure to join our Discord to connect with the members of our team. Many of us earned our positions by bringing something new to the Campaign. We hope you'll join us in continuing one of the top community events in Warband!

Donating to the Calradic Campaign The Calradic Campaign server is our own, and we run it ourselves on a donation basis as we have for years. We now have a Patreon that you can put in a monthly or one time amount to contribute. There are multiple reward tiers with more coming, and with a larger pool of money we can expand our community events (like Mod Night!) as well as preparing for the expected high server costs of Bannerlord.

    Using the mod kit

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 07:42 AM PST

Hi guys, recently I've been wanting to get back in the game again - especially now since the modding tool is out. Problem is there are a few little things about the game that irks me so much that I know myself good enough to tell that I'm either gonna spend hours of save scumming or simply rage quitting. I haven't found any mods that fix my particular problem, and since I think it's some small simple stuff I've convinced myself it should be pretty easy to fix myself with the modding kit.

SO: I have no idea on how to use the mod kit, and I just can't find any videos or guides that helps to teach it. Because of that I'm asking if anyone out here knows of somewhere I could find a guide to use the mod kit, I'll be extremely happy. Cheers guys!

Villages/towns need more icons next to their names on the map.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 12:36 AM PST

Villages should each have an icon next to their name indicating their primary good. Then icons for any available quests, higher tier troops, etc. An icon that shows if they've been raided, and fades the closer the town is to coming 'back online' as it were.

Amazed this hasn't been implemented into the base game yet given that there's a mod which did lots of this months ago.

    Immersive Helmets Mod

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 06:07 PM PST

Does anyone know of a mod which restricts vision when wearing full-face helmets? I remember there was a great mod which did this for Warband and it was really awesome, I can't remember the name of it but it was set in 13th century Poland (I think).

    Bandit Upgrading

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 04:31 AM PST

So I know you can't upgrade bandits to regular troops without the veteran perk but I've always been able to upgrade bushwackers and freebooters all the way to forest bandit.

Now I suddenly can't without the veteran perk. Has this been implemented in game? I think bannerlord tweaks is the only mod I'm using currently.

Trying to kill a man so I can have his wife...

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 10:14 AM PST

Does this even work in this game? I'm getting pretty unlucky with mortality, headshotting him during the battle or during the eternal post-battle victory cheer.

It's still fairly early in the game. My character is only 27 years old.

The guy I'm trying to take out starts the game already married to his wife, I think. They are 39 and 37 years old.

I know there's a cutoff age for marriages or something, but I'm not sure what it is.

I'd also have to deal with Corein after I successfully arrange Baranor's "accident"...

    Edit:
As it turns out, my new 37-year-old wife Valaria had an 18-year-old daughter with Baranor called Comatasa. (Weird name).
Just for the hell of it, I thought it would be mostly harmless (for me) if I were to see if I could just trade in my older model wife for her own daughter.

After Valaria was killed in a tragic accident involving feral guinea pigs, she was listed in the encyclopedia as my ex-spouse.

As soon as I married her daughter, her tag was changed from ex-spouse to mother-in-law.
Though, on her page, my character is still listed as her ex-spouse.

    Fun. I guess.
Though I like Valaria better than Comatosa. So I reloaded my save!

Game crashes even after a reinstall... tried running current and latest beta patch too.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 01:42 AM PST

I simply cannot get past the intro of the game. Tried the safe mode they propose but to no avail.

Hardware is a laptop with a i7 and a 2060. I had managed to play the game a few hours earlier this year and thought I could get back to it lol.

The error logs show there's tons of "unknown module" lines, as for the normal log there's a lot of "Unable to find item to add dependency" lines.... I don't know if this stuff is normal as I'm no developer. But I just redownloaded the game this morning so it should be clean?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Is prophesy of pendor dead?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 04:42 PM PST

I've been wondering this for a while, couldn't find anything on the state of it at the moment. I wouldn't be that upset if it was but I was just wondering. The only thing I'd really want changed at this point is to give the elecrai siege a unique drop or something as it remains the hardest challenge in the game and doesn't really reward you if you win.

Ideas to make smithing more dynamic

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 12:21 PM PST

It feels tiresome after a while, doesn't it? You start doing it to make some cash and after spamming the extra-long hide grip two-handed flax 600 times to level and unlock parts, you're just burnt out.

Let's instead consider a smithing experience where the damage potential of a weapon (and someday armor - this is my second person narration so suspend disbelief you little shit) isn't directly tied to the gold that it is worth. Furthermore, it is done in a way that does not harm the balance of the game - it even enhances it!

Somewhere along your progression up the skill tree, parts begin to unlock much faster. It continues to accelerate until you have them all. This makes intuitive sense - an experienced smith is much more likely to see something and understand how someone else made it right away.

There's still a reason to craft parts after you've unlocked them, though. As you continue to smith a part you get better at doing it, and this shows in the finished product. Remember the old modifiers? They're back! As you improve you're more likely to great a balanced blade, or a strong pommel.

And notice this - you can craft individual components now. Not only can you choose the type of part you want to use to assemble your weapon, you can specify which specific one you want. It's just one click away to see your applicable inventory of already-crafted parts. These all bring their bonuses or maluses that emerged when they were first made.

You can still craft unmodified weapons using the crafting system as it still exists, but you do this for quests, leveling, or extra gold. These weapons are also named generically ("Two-handed Broad Axe"). When you want to really make and use a weapon, you craft individual components and then assemble them yielding a "unique" weapon that you can name.

You find that you can't abuse this mechanic very much, as each component's creation and the final creation of all necessary components count as smithing "turns". You hate to waste a high-level smith's turn on making charcoal or smelting - you really need to have them available when you are crafting components or assembling a final weapon. And then there is still a chance that they don't end up crafting a component with the quality modifier for which you had hoped. There's no way to start spamming out overpowered weapons too early.

Merchants no longer care about only the damage stat assigned to the weapon. It's part of their calculation, sure, but even that is considered by weapon type rather than all weapons. It doesn't make much since to value a dagger less than a bladed polearm because the dagger does less damage. It's supposed to do less damage, so they care about how much better your dagger is than the average dagger. They act much the same way when you show them ten extra-long hide gripped two-handed falxes. A lot of two-handed swords do similar amounts of damage, so no, I am not willing to sell every single thing that this city owns and all of its gold in exchange for it.

Merchants will then pay a premium for weapons that are assembled from higher quality components, because their resultant stats are just that much better than the expected weapons of that type. You sell one such weapon - a two-handed axe with tempered parts - and make a decent chunk of change. You are somewhat shocked to later discover that a lord from the city where you sold it now uses it in battle. You wonder whether you should go take it back from him. You forget about it and play for hundreds of game days when you remember and decide to take action. Sadly, he no longer uses the weapon and has discarded it because it has worn down past its usefulness. Higher-quality components last much longer than lesser-quality.

One day, you grin with maniacal satisfaction as you finally snap together all four pieces of a legendary Mountain Blade. The game pops-up an alert you haven't seen before: "Name your Artifact". That's right - a weapon made entirely of the highest-quality parts, because it is so rare, is considered by the game to be an artifact. It's on the level of Excalibur, Durandal, or the sword of Goujian. These weapons never get worn out, cannot be sold, but can be transferred to clan members. The game also tracks certain statistics related to the weapon. Total kills, total damage dealt, owner with most kills, and more. They are only removed from the game if the character wielding it decides to destroy it.

It took a lot of testing, time, trial and error, and luck, but after a long but rewarding smithing experience you finally outfit yourself and your core companions with artifact weapons that suit your playstyle. Other players claim that the combinations of legendary parts that they discovered are a better way to play, and maybe they're not wrong. But deep down, you know that only you have it right.

After all, these weapons are legends that transcend their owners.

    Bannerlord trade stat

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 10:53 PM PST

Couldn't find anything online for the current update, and testing done things people said worked failed to produce results so, what actually increases trade skill aside from buy low sell high? Trading Lord's didn't do anything, any other form of normal trading doesn't do anything unless I specifically bought the item, and I'm unaware of exactly how caravans increase your skill. Do they increase your skill only if you're leading them, or does just starting and assigning a follower still increase your skill?
