    Hello everyone!

    Previous Patch Thread

    Mount and Blade Discord

TaleWorlds has released official modding tools for Bannerlord! The announcement is detailed below.

    Link to original post

    Greetings warriors of Calradia!

After a short delay, the first batch of modding tools is ready for a beta release! They include:

    Scene Editor Toolset

    •Entity Placement Tools

•Terrain Import, Export, and Editing Tools

    •Navigation Mesh Tools

    •GI Baking Tools

    •Level System Editing Tools

    Resource Editors

    •Resource Browser

    •Material Editor

    •Mesh Editor

    •Texture Editor

    •Body Editor

    •Cloth Editor

    •Atmosphere Editor

Currently, you will need to own the game on Steam in order to access the tools. To download them, you should head to your Library page and select TOOLS from the list filter. You can then search for Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Modding Kit and proceed to download the tools after accepting the Mod Tools License Agreement. Please note that you will need to have the game installed for the tools to work. Likewise, your game version and tool version need to match in order for the tools to operate.

With tools in hand, you can then head over to http://docs.modding.bannerlord.com/ to access the modding documentation. Please be aware that these are living documents and, as such, they will be adjusted and updated over time. With that in mind, if you experience any issues or have any feedback you would like to share in regards to the documentation, you can head on over to the Official Modding Documentation thread. Similarly, you can go to the Official Tools section of our modding forums to provide suggestions and report any problems you run into while using the modding tools. And if forums aren't really your thing, you can join the Modding Discord to find like-minded users to discuss the tools with.

For those of you that are new to modding, or for those that simply want to get up to speed with our tools, you can check out this recent Developer Workshop livestream where we gave a detailed overview of the scene editor and its many features. We hope to share more content like this in the near future, so make sure to follow our channels to keep up to date with those announcements.

Video: Developer Workshop - Map Editor

Finally, we just want to say how thrilled we are to be able to share these tools with you all! There are already so many amazing mods out there and others with huge potential that are still in the works, and we are just happy to be involved and to be able to support these kinds of efforts with the release of this first batch of tools. So, on that note, we want to give a huge shoutout and thanks to our amazing modding community, in particular the testing group that helped us to bring these to release, and say that we are truly excited to see what you manage to accomplish with these tools!

Would anyone here be interested in a Europe + surroundings map mod?

    Posted: 01 Oct 2020 10:14 AM PDT

I'm thinking of making a mod that would change the world map to Europe, rename the factions & their leaders to real-world historical ones, and relocate & rename the cities to reflect. I'd probably keep the actual formula of the game the same as opposed to pushing for ultra historical accuracy or anything, but I'd probably add a couple new factions too.

Would anyone be interested in this mod, or helping with it?

[Perisno 1.001] Perisno's Giants: How Do I Hit Them?

    Posted: 01 Oct 2020 05:01 AM PDT

So I'm playing Perisno on a Mac. Currently a vassal for the Reich attacking the Sut (right?) Giants.

I'll set the scene. Besieging Sut. It's a bloodbath going over the rocks at the bridge; dozens of Reich soldiers lay dead or out cold on the ground as the Giants rain down hellfire from the ramparts, Shi Jin takes the L and eats pavement almost immediately. Slowly we make it to the path on the far end of the wall only to be bombarded by the Giants from the inner wall. Eventually, we encounter a Giant soldier. the entire army proceeds to hit nothing apparently (no damage reports on the feed), our weapons harmlessly going through the Giant as he singlehandedly staunches the assault, knocking out the Kaiser, myself, and the rest of the vassals who survived the archers. I reloaded and tried to duel Thrak and it's the same story.

I didn't know my game had the bug up until that moment. Yeah, I've had Thrak as a companion for a few in-game weeks by now, but I've never actually witnessed him in battle and just assumed Giants were supposed to be this tanky.

I've heard of a fix on other forums that involves replacing the skeleton_bodies.xml file, but I can't seem to find the native version of that file, if it even exists on the mac version of the local files or if it goes by the same name. Really grateful to anyone who could give me some tips about it. Thanks!

Thinking in buying M&B and have a few questions

    Posted: 01 Oct 2020 04:55 AM PDT

-Are Mount And Blade games related one with each another in history?

-Are there mods that improve graphics in the first M&B? (pretty sure there are but i still ask)

-Is Warband related history-wise to the original M&B?

-Do the DLC's relate history-wise to Warband and original M&B?

-Kingdoms are always the same in every save right?

and What do you like the most about the game and how would you describe it?

    POP Prisoners and Lords

    Posted: 01 Oct 2020 09:59 AM PDT

So two things I am still wonder about, first how do you get castles and towns to capture prisoners. I'm trying to improve Noldor relations be freeing captured Noldor so I took whitestag castle. Had if for a few in game months and nothing, how do if get Noldor prisoners without fighting their parties. Second, lord recruiting. I beat the mod a few years ago but I forgot how to recruit lords when you make your own kingdom, any help the wiki isn't very clear?

    About balancing and perks.

    Posted: 01 Oct 2020 07:05 AM PDT

I don't think there will be a big issue when it comes to balancing between factions. It is tuning the skills they have and change equipment.

But how is the factions different? Mostly skills and equipment?
One thing I love (and hate) with khuzait is that they use horses and mount archery a lot. Big difference to Sturiga who only use javlins as mounted archer.

There is actually no point in talking about balancing both in combat, AI and skills but I want to address some things I would love to see in the end to the gameplay.

    • Skills
      • Meanwhile skills are being implement, tuning and adjusting skills needs to be done at a later stage.
      • Possible of gaining new skills in-game by completing quests for factions, cities, mercs, royals (whose trait affect the skill. Generous trait of royal, could give skill that increase reputation when trading for example)
      • Troop-specific skills. Oathsworn are weaker compared to others in the same tier. But skills dedicated to different troops within different factions could balance this out. Lorewise, they could have skills to be superfast since they are a forest-based faction. Maybe all higher tiers troops have skills that increase wining meanwhile forest for auto-resolve combat?
        • Crossbowmen using Pavise for example. A unique skill for Vlandia.
    • Tactics & strategy
      • I haven't read anything about how factions should differentiate from each other or their longterm strategy? It would be really cool to see these behaviors implemented. A Faction that raids, one that do heavy manipulation of royals, one with focus of trading etc.
      • Factions tactics. Things I love about Warband was playing Rhodoks, heavy big shields and let the bolts fly! I hope to see this in Bannerlord.

I hope Bannerlord will be the best thing ever. Played a lot of warband and really looking forward to bannerlord and its mods!

    Bannerlord Unable to Launch

    Posted: 01 Oct 2020 05:32 AM PDT

Anyone have the issue of not being able to launch the game at all? I click launch on steam, the game would start up, I can see the bannerlord mouse cursor and the game icon on the taskbar at the bottom but the game is invisible and then it closes itself down without actually loading up.

    Children

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 08:20 PM PDT

So I've died of old age and am playing as my wife, I have a feeling it won't be long before she too kicks the bucket. How old do children have to be for them to be playable or able to have them in your party? Currently I have 2 children over 18 and I can't find them on the map
