    I miss you Ctrl + E

This man has killed 70,000 of my troops, owns half of Calradia, is the only living noble left in the Southern Empire. He's the only thing that stands between me and complete domination - He is currently in the meat market wearing rags and spreading rumors.

What do you think TaleWorlds should add to the game to enhance roleplaying elements?

    Posted: 27 May 2020 06:56 AM PDT

    My short list:

    - Careers. Joining a Kingdom needs to be more involved. A council of ministers, or a senate, or whatever the culture calls it would be a nice addition. Similar to Crusader Kings II. There should be Kingdom and local careers. Here are the Kingdom careers which would make up the council/senate/kurultai etc.:

    1. Chancellor
    2. Marshal
    3. Steward
    4. Spymaster
    5. In Crusader Kings II, the 5th office would be a religious one, but since Bannerlord has no religious system (REALLY needs one, would add an awesome layer of politics and gameplay) then it would be substituted with something else. Maybe something like a Magistrate that handles Kingdom legal affairs.

Here are the Local/Lower offices which can be held by a character that is not a Lord or a vassal, but wants to gain influence and friends in a faction while working for them with no military obligation:

    1. Village Chief - Responsible for training the village's militia, patrolling for bandits, and arresting criminals. Lots of quests can be added to this office for roleplay and practical mechanics.
    2. Town Magistrate - Handling the town's legal affairs. Quests would come from the Lord of the town, from important citizens, dealing with local organized crime, maybe taking bribes, stuff like that.
    3. Captain of the Guard - Similar to a village chief, just better pay, influence, and recognition.
    4. Tax collector - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ bribes $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
    5. Secret Police - This would be the highest 'unofficial' career in a town, and you would be directly employed by the Kingdom's Spymaster.

Those are some of my thoughts, and I believe that these careers could be filled with many quests for roleplay and practical political maneuvering, things of that nature.

This could add many new playstyles.

'War Goals' and 'Theaters of Operation' - Bannerlord Late Game

    Posted: 27 May 2020 07:49 AM PDT

So it comes down to Sturgia, Khuzait and Hammerfold in the end. These three kingdoms have earned the right to fight the final war for dominion over all of Calradia with the blood they have already spilled. The map is divided into three evenly matched kingdoms. All three kingdoms have lords who have spent their lives on the battlefield - learning from every defeat and every victory - true masters of warfare. The war horns sound. Armies numbering in the thousands are raised - and then stupidity happens.

One army chooses to roam around in a remote corner of the map which is under no threat. Another army is 'patrolling' around an insignificant village with 2500 men. One army acts like a child who cannot decide whether the ice cream or the candy is more worthy of it's attention - marching purposefully to relieve a siege only to change it's mind and decide to attack an enemy settlement - and repeating this cycle till it runs out of food and disperses - wasting everyone's time. Another army decides to siege and take a castle three quarters inside the enemy territory. Meanwhile, Derthert, the 'king' of a long dead kingdom, with all his 25 troops declares war on you and your lords raise an army of 2000 to play a perpetually unsuccessful game of tag with Derthert's party.

While I enjoyed the freedom given by the Bannerlord (assemble army) system and the huge and frequent battles this results in, I think it needs to be reworked or maybe even completely changed. I think it's ridiculous that the King of any given faction seemingly has no control over how and where the war effort in any given war is directed. Frankly, I think the Warband system of having Marshals raising armies was far better than what we have now, since that led to battles that were the focal point of wars and were decisive in giving an advantage to the victor while the vanquished licked their wounds, reconciled to losing territory while more men were mustered.

The gripe brings me to the suggestions.

    i) .War Goals. Whenever war is declared between factions, the king must have a set of goals that he intends to pursue in the war. Whether it is to be a war of attrition, which flank of the enemy territory is to be prioritized, which settlements are key goals of the war etc. Failing this, every war is a cluster---- of lords doing whatever strikes their fancy at any given time. If you lead your own kingdom, while declaring war or being notified of a war declaration, you must be allowed to set your kingdom's posture - aggressive or defensive and specify these war goals for your own faction. If you are a Vassal and you raise an army, you should get directions from the king as to what he expects you to do - such as seiging a particular settlement, meeting an incoming enemy army, capturing a certain lord, raiding a particular area, or defending part of the kingdom. Then relations and traits of the generals leading your armies can play into how these instructions are interpreted and implemented by the lord in question.

ii).Theaters of Operation - As an alternative or in addition - the King must be allowed to specify theaters of operation to each army that is raised. These would essentially be large circles on the map that an army is supposed to act in, whether that takes the form of attacking enemy settlements within it's theater or defending it's own. This way wars will actually have structure around them and a defined frontline which is fought over. This will also allow factions that are facing war on multiple fronts to allocate their manpower to guard natural chokes on the map or otherwise try to fight a defensive war on one front while they try to finish the other war or sue for peace.

As of now, late game wars, especially if you own your own kingdom, are just a series of frustrating episodes of "What the hell are my guys doing".

    King Derthert = Greedy Bastard

    Posted: 26 May 2020 07:52 PM PDT

PSA: You can have your followers recruit and train troops for you. You don't have to build relation to get troops.

    Posted: 26 May 2020 01:00 PM PDT

Tired of having to go from village to village recruiting units one at a time? Let your lackeys trusted companions do it for you!

    1. Go to your cultural area of choice.

    2. Open the clan menu and go to parties.

    3. select the option to "create a party"

    4. Give them enough troops to be somewhat safe, but not too much to fill their party.

    5. Then watch them as they go into the nearest village/town and just pickup 15+ troops like they own the place. They will keep doing this until max. Afterward they will just patrol around attacking bandits/enemy armies.

    6. When you want your troops just select the option to "create an army" at the bottom right-hand side and sort by cost. Clan parties cost "0" influence to summon.

    7. Speak the them and select "let me inspect your troops" take what you want.

    Things to note

    • They don't seem to be affect by AI summons to create an army, so you don't have to worry about them being dragged into a campaign across the map.

    • If you intervene in a battle they are in or they intervene in one you are in. All the troops will be under your command.

    • Tactics makes their autocalc results better, Stewardess let's them bring more.

    • I also noticed that I would randomly start getting relationship bonuses by having them out campaigning.

    Relationship with the king

I'm trying to increase my relationship with king Harlaus, and it's currently at 17, but he won't give me tasks, no matter how many times I ask, so is there a certain requirement to get him to give you tasks when you ask? Thanks for answers

    Fast relation with wife

    Posted: 27 May 2020 06:35 AM PDT

You can barter with your wife and gift her all of your fiefs. They will still remain in your clan and with your full control.

Caveat is that if she is a governor, she may end up traveling to one of those cities/castles.

Don't know if it works with other companions.

Working on a theory that my wife wont get pregnant because her relation is too low?

But this will boost it up quickly, just need to wait a little between barters so do them all at once. Not one at a time.

It would be cool if certain buildings types in settlements and castles dictated what tier and type of troops were available to recruit.

    Posted: 27 May 2020 08:37 AM PDT

What the title says, more building variety and buildings in settlements which allow you to selectively train certain types of units would be good. It's too easy in my opinion to completely max out the buildings in a settlement and theres no choice or variety, pros or cons to weigh up when selecting the upgrades.
