PSA: Don't take an Escort Lady quest and marry the same lady simultaneously

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 08:17 AM PDT

Proposing marriage to a Lady and getting the Ok from her guardian causes her to only ever respond to you that you shouldn't talk in the days leading to a wedding, Taking a quest that requires you to take this lady to a different town is fine, but once you get there, she automatically enters a dialogue saying you shouldn't be talking, exiting out of this dialogue only reopens it leaving you in a softlock.

    Unusual for Warband

Does anyone know which factions have the best troops in The Gathering Storm mod?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 10:15 AM PDT

I found an old Wheel of Time mod that seems interesting, and it has an actual channeling system (the green enemy searching ray is awesome!) which is cool. But I can't find much information about the troop trees or what kind of troop each faction is specialized in.

Help with Viking Conquest Storyline Midgame

    Posted: 01 Nov 2019 09:39 AM PDT

Hey y'all. Just getting back into M&B after not playing since the original was new and innovative. I played Warband native as Khergits, now playing through Viking Conquest. Took a pretty long early game (what I think of as until you accept the go viking in England mission) and have farmsteads in probably 12-15 towns across Britain, Ireland, and Scandinavia and a pretty decent number of troops in a high level refuge on the southern bank of the Thames between London and Winchester. I had also already done a few missions for Wessex lords so I had decent relations with a number of them and basically became the faction's darling as soon as I chose to deliver the letter to the Saxons. Brycheiniog and Caer Went were both conquered very quickly after I joined and I was given both as well as one of Brycheiniog's villages as fiefs and moved all my soldiers to the garrisons.

So, here's my problems that I'm trying to figure out:

1., Wessex is at war with literally every other faction except Mercia. All of my farmsteads elsewhere are sequestered. My fiefs make decent money but I'm still bleeding cash if I want to have enough soldiers to reasonably passively defend both a castle and a town, as well as a big enough field army to capture other castles.

2., I'm used to my field army being pure high level Khergits, aka, move faster than everyone else. How do I catch the small enemy armies that keep running around raiding?

3., Troops level up a lot fucking slower in Viking conquest than in native, but you have a lot more of them. Are there any tricks for managing large armies of mid level infantry?

4., What's the best way to capture castles with much larger than in Native garrisons, without many high end heavily armored shock troops? Also, there's way more options for managing a siege and it seems like every so often some sort of event happens that causes an autoresolved clash where I lose a lot more men than the defenders. My next mission is to capture one of Gwynedd's castles and it's been a pain in the ass because I keep having to run back because they send lords behind me and besiege one of my fiefs.

5., Probably some other things as well.

    Tl;dr--I miss my Khergit lancers
