Create your own troops in Bannerlord

    Posted: 29 Aug 2020 05:27 AM PDT

I've for a long time thought that creating your own troop tree in Bannerlord would be welcome, and not too hard to implement feature. Creating your own troop tree after you establish your own kingdom would be a large advantage on your side, as you could tailor a troop tree to exactly fit your needs. It would also make being king more rewarding.

When you start creating your unit, it opens up the inventory screen and there stands your template soldier naked as the day he was born. On the left side it would have a list of either all of the equipment in the game, or all of your culture's equipment. I myself would prefer that you could only use equipment of your own culture, it would force you to make more unique troops, and also they would fit in the context of you character's culture better. When you're done, you name the troop and select it's class.

Creating the tree itself would be simple. You start out with your very own recruit, and every time you want to create a new troop, you just click on an old one, and it would give you the option to create a new troop on the next tier. For example, if your troop tree consist of a recruit and a tier 2 footman, and you want to create a tier 3 footman, you would click on the tier 2 footman, but if you wanted to make a tier 2 archer you would click on the recruit.

My idea would be that every unit would be limited to their rank of equipment. This is so you couldn't create OP units at early tiers. So tier 2 units could only use equipment that was tier 2 or worse. It would then add up all of the equipment and through some algorithm it would make up the unit's wage and price to recruit/upgrade. With the price/wage system you would have to make the choice of do you want a massive army with cheap units, a good sized army with balanced units, or a smaller army with really good units.

Finally finished Warband 7 years purchasing the game

A big circle in my life has finally closed.
After 1,656 hours, I've finally started a save file which will lead me as a player to finally conquer all of Calradia under the Banner of the "Free Trade Federation" with "The Iron Lady" spearheading the long march to victory.

The people of Calradia now know that as long as their Queen's heart keeps beating that they shall live a life absent of war, violence, bloodshed, destruction and they will live a life full of peace and prosperity. And the player can finally be proud of himself for finishing this fucking headache of a campaign.

    All hail The Iron Lady!

Surgery is OP and should be maxed on the PLAYER character (with maths)

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 07:29 PM PDT

Surgery is generally OP, and is the only skill in the game that scales EXPONENTIALLY with itself. For example, going from 10 surgery to 14 gives you more of a benefit than going from 6 to 10. Note that, same as with all party skills, levelling it to 10 on the player character gives you a +4 bonus.

    Here is some maths:

At 0 surgery , if you lost 100 troops in battle, 75 would die instead of just being wounded (25% base survival chance).

With 10 surgery on NPC, 35 die (25% base plus 4% per level of surgery).

With 14 surgery (by having 10 on player) 19 die (81% survival rate).

While % survival goes up in a linear fashion, the % of deaths goes down in an exponential fashion as survival chance gets closer to 100%

In terms of difference between 10 and 14 surgery - with 14 surgery you have 84% more soldiers surviving - your death rate is nearly halved.

So, having surgery on player is nearly twice as good as having it on NPC.

Please note that your surgery skill also helps any ALLIES in the battle. 14 surgery is OP as hell and can keep everyone on your side from suffering any real losses. This is more important in Pendor because the best units are harder to come by / train up than it is in warband.

    Help with latest patch.

    Posted: 29 Aug 2020 08:24 AM PDT

Hey been searching online cant seem to find the answers. Did the latest patch 1.50 break siege battles for anyone else? As soon as the ladders go up or even if I break a wall, my troops don't know where to go and it gets really slow. was working fine on the previous patch.

If anyone has any work arounds would be much appreciated.

Is it possible to go over stat cap using static +1 skill books?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2020 07:59 AM PDT

I read that you could get 1 above the 10 (+4) party skill cap through +1 skill books but it does not seem to be working for me. When you level up, you can still add a point to that skill despite it being at 10.

6 new troop trees with varied and lore friendly mercenaries for both you and the AI.

They replace the hired blades and armed trader trees in taverns.
