    Of F*cking Course

    Posted: 21 Apr 2020 08:02 PM PDT

I'm just gonna say it. Whoever composed the music for Bannerlord deserves a freakin' medal.

    Posted: 22 Apr 2020 05:43 AM PDT

This has to be one of the better soundtracks I've heard in awhile. Each song is unique towards its culture and man.. they're just great. "Battle Music (Vlandia)" that song... oh man this song makes me feel certain ways. Especially around the ~2:50 mark. When that part comes on.... it puts me in THE ZONE. Even in a losing battle you just feel hype and start to kick some ass.

    TL;DR This music is great.

    Books should be brought back.

    Posted: 22 Apr 2020 08:32 AM PDT

The absence of books in Bannerlord is very noticeable. Books were in warband and would either:

    A. Increase a certain skill while the book was in your inventory. B. Increase a skill after you finished reading it when waiting (camping in warband).

Now with certain skills being quite slow or difficult to level in Bannerlord a book would be perfect to help fill that gap.

A book in Bannerlord could do one of the following.

    1. Increase (specified) skill stat by 5-10 points after it is read (consumed). These books should have a upper limit of what they can upgrade to. Like lvl 50-100. Or be tiered as to what they can level a skill up to.

    2. Book grants a certain perk while in your inventory.

    3. Book grants an extra focus point for specified skill while in your inventory.

    4. Grants an extra focus point for a specified skill after being read (consumed). Can't increase focus points past a certain threshold.

    5. Grants an attribute point after being read (consumed).

Like warband the books should be expensive and relatively rare. Also given the importance of companions in Bannerlord, they should be able to use them as well so you don't always have to hunt for new companions with better skills. Or worse replace our first companions to join because Bunduk doesn't have enough scout skill for the perk I want.

The main purpose of books would be to expedite the gap between getting a decent clan going and becoming a city conquering, army smashing, butterlord breaking, ruler of Calradia.

Also a mod for this would be nice if anyone knows one.

Why are tiny clans treated like actual threats?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2020 06:48 AM PDT

Imagine for a moment you are the King of England in the middle-ages. A courtier runs up to you and tells you that "a band of 12 peasants and a noble we have never heard of just stole some grain from a backwater village that you have also never heard of". Your reaction to this would not be "my god we have to declare war against this clan" it would be "why are you telling me this? this is the local militias job to handle".

Its a bit silly in my opinion to have an entire empire go to war with me, a fake noble with a few peasants because i stole some grain.

''For 3-4 days I worked on lords to have better tier troops. It will be at beta branch 2-3 days later with other developments :

Here is latest situation after developments, as you see tier1 / tier2 troops are generally 25%+20% = 45% of all troops. It was 45%+25% = 70% before. Also now NPC lords will be visiting settlements & recruting more to fill their party size (more compared current version). Previously they were going enemy lands more frequently with less men (currently using 60% of their party size in average with additions this ratio will rise 80%). Also if they have lots of wounded troops they now go settlement and rest more. Armies will care their food more (they were dying because of starving much and their food management is a bit developed). Sally out exploit (if you lay siege with neutral army thing) will be gone. You will not be able to change troops of villagers / caravans / militias with donate troops option. NPC lords will make better economical management, if they are rich they will recruit more and increase party / garrison sizes (this was already at game but developed). All these improvements will be at beta branch soon (2-3 days).

Also decreased lords escaping probability by 25% / 50% (from mobile party / from settlement). This will be later decreased more when replacement heroes are added to game. Currently it is risky to reduce very much because replacements are not added and some clans only have 1-2 lords. This addition (slightly decreased escaping probability) will be at beta too 2-3 days later.

Also you will be able to hire a caravan including better troops with 50% expensive initial cost and daily wage. However party size will stay at 30. Later new perks will be added giving +5 size to player caravans. I tested latest situation in lots of different save games and still caravans are very good value and travel with very low risk in most cases. I think we lost lots of time discussing this 30 thing. It was something needed and minor compared to other issues. People overreacted it before testing / playing enough.''
