Steamrolling needs to be stopped and to do that Taleworlds need to take a page from Paradox's book.

I'm talking about 5 mechanics from CK2 here: CBs, Truces, Defensive pacts, Vassal factions and Vassal rebellions.

1 - CB - Casus Belli, make it so that every war is declared for a certain objective, which the AI will priorotise. For example, if the war is declared for a certain chunk of territory, attackers will priorotise sieging that territory above all else, and when they are in control of it, they'll be more likely to open peace negotiations. Declaring a war should also cost influence depending on the volume of contested territory - citys cost more than castles and taking over the entire country should cost a metric fuck ton of influence.

2 - Truces - make them longer, make them follow every peace deal, even with minor factions and make it so that they are unbreakable.

3 - Defencive pacts - make it so that when a single country starts steamrolling out of control, all other countries band together to stop the behemoth - simple as that. Maybe if that country has elimimated a faction, make it so that the members of the defensive pact try to restore the eliminated faction with a puppet clan at the throne.

4 - Vassal factions and rebellions - make it so that when a ruler upsets his vassals, some clans can rise up against them and try to overthrow the tyrannical bastard. Also would love to see displeased clans band up into an opposing faction within a kingdom, that doesn't boil into a full on civil war, but tries to push their own agenda and puts metaphorical sticks into ruler's meraphorical wheels

Finally, that's just my own preference, but I would love to see imperial civil war treated differently from all offensive wars, maybe make them all concentrate on wach other way more, than on the other factions, but that's just my own shtick.

    Reintroduce manhunter groups into Bannerlord.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 02:31 AM PDT

I remember seeing this 10 to 20 men groups of manhunters allways batteling with bandits. They could attack groups you couldn't possibly catch up to with bigger armys. And it would somewhat reduce the problem of lords being captured by bandits by reducing the overall number of bandits.

Ira doesn't inherit the Southern Empire when Rhagaea dies

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 05:11 AM PDT

I play a lot of CK2. Naturally, my first playthrough was focused on marrying Ira so that our children would be the heirs of the empire. I named our firstborn Arenicos after his grandfather.

When marrying Ira, she stops being part of the clan Pethros and instead joins your clan. I thought this might cause issues with inheritance, so today I tried killing Rhagaea using cheatmode to see what happens. It turns out this fucker Ulbos inherits the faction instead of Ira.

Naturally I hunted down and killed the rest of the Pethros family but then the throne went to Oros of the Mestricaros.

I did some tests and if you kill Rhagaea before marrying Ira, Ulbos still inherits the throne despite what Ira's description says. However Ira will eventually inherit if you kill the other family members. I figured this might be because Ira isn't listed as Rhagaea's daughter in the game files and the encyclopedia but rahter just in the descriptive texts. So I added mother="Hero.lord_1_14" to Ira's line in the heroes.xml file under Modules/SandBox/ModuleData, whiuch did work as intended in that it showed Ira as Rhagaea's daughter in the encyclopedia (I don't know why this isn't the default) but Ulthos was still first in line even after that change.

So I guess succession mechanics are not in yet, which isn't really a huge surprise. I love this game so far but I would really like to have some form of roadmap where we can se what features are implemented and what are still coming.

TL;DR: After a faction ruler dies, another member of their clan takes over, followed by another clan leader if the ruling clan goes extinct. marrying women (don't know how it works the other way around but I assume it's the same) moves them to your own clan which removes them from succession, so right now you can't marry your way into power.

    Edit: typos
